People have asked me how i have been able to show up on my mat daily for the last 50 years and i say- I go on as Clark Kent and come out as Superman- who wouldn’t!

I mean it, i weep  and bow when i think of the power of this practice for bringing your body and mind back into harmony and balance. Standing poses for strength and stability; backbends for releasing shoulders and opening theheart and lungs;  twists for purifying internal organs;  forward bends for releasing tension in the whole backside of the body; inversions that bring the heart above the head and improve circulation; restorative poses that have an enormous capacity to heal stress related tension in your body and mind; breathing practices and meditation to bring peace of mind. And for “off the mat practice”- there are the practices of the Yamas & Niyamas (resembling the ten commandments and the ten virtues of Buddhism such as non harming, truthfulness, non-stealing, right use of energy, non-hoarding; cleanliness, contentment, discipline, self study, and contemplation of a higher power….what’s not to love?

Yoga is for everyone and poses can be modified with walls, chairs, blocks, straps, and bolsters to support each individual bodies strengths and weaknesses- thus providing safety, balance and well being.

Every teacher has something beautiful to give, just start!

Your body, mind and heart will thank you. Snd both your world, and the world, will be a better place to live in.

Private and Group Private  Yoga: A skilled “private eye” is a body’s best friend. Young and old benefit from this one-on-one attention. You body, like a car, is your precious vehicle this lifetime, and therefore needs to be looked at and tuned up to get the most mileage. A private instructor is  watching, noticing and guiding you to your best posture that suits your own particular bodies strengths and weaknesses. You could be doing yoga for a long time and be unaware of imbalances or asymmetrie. And then, the very same thing you are doing to balance and heal, can  eventually cause pain, weakness or injury. I find it essential.

Private yoga for seniors. As we age gracefully in yoga, we need more eyes on us! Being a fit senior myself, I know how important it is to be balanced in a posture both inside and out. it’s one way we can take responsibility for our good health. Poses can be modified with props such as wall, blocks, straps, belts, chairs or bolsters. No matter what age, you can still create an individual program that matches your bodies own strengths and weakness. It’s inspiring and calming at the same time. A great gift to your body, mind and heart.
