YOGA
,Yoga is for everyone, and a treasure not to be missed. As we age poses may be modified using straps, blocks, bolsters, walls, or chairs- so that everyone is included, honored and welcomed... A skilled certified teacher can provide a sense of joy and safety while we all continue along this life-enhancing path.
It’s such a fun practice! There are so many different flavors of poses to choose from, and why not enjoy them all! It’s like going into an ice-cream parlor and tasting all the different flavors of ice cream. So come along and treat yourself…
Standing poses build strength and stability; backbends help release shoulder and neck tightness and open the heart and lungs; twists purify the internal organs; forward bends release tension in the backside of the body and cultivate surrender; inversions improve circulation and bring more blood supply to the brain ; restorative poses relieve stress related tension in the body and mind; and breathing, meditation and relaxation allows the mind to rest in the moment and experience its natural joy and peace.
And lastly and most importantly, the “off the mat” practices called the “Yamas and Niyamas” non-violence, truthfulness, non- stealing, non-hoarding, purity, contentment, disciple, self study and surrender help us integrate yoga into our daily lives. w .
I have been blessed in the early days to have studied yoga directly with such masterful teachers as B.K.S. Iyengar, founder of Iyengar Yoga where I learned precise alignment, dynamism and therapeutic applications of yoga; John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga, where I learned Universal Principles of alignment and balanced actions for the inner and outer body that are in harmony with the pulsation of the Universe; and Paul Mueller-Ortega, renowned academic scholar in religious studies where I studied the Yoga Sutras, Shiva Sutras, and other ancient texts adding a foundation of wisdom to the practice. And to them and others after them , I am forever grateful.
My yoga classes are a combination of Iyengar and Anusara styles of yoga integrated with a spiritual theme or teaching that each student can take home and apply to their daily lives so they are living their yoga.
Thank you for coming to this website and i look forward to being with you soon.

Private Yoga Classes: A skilled “private eye” is a body’s best friend. Young and old benefit from this one-on-one attention. You body, like a car, is your precious vehicle this lifetime, and therefore needs to be looked at and tuned up to get the most mileage. A private instructor can watch, notice, and guide you to the best posture that suits your own particular bodies strengths and weaknesses. You could be doing yoga for a long time, and be unaware of imbalances or asymmetries. And then, the very same thing you are doing to balance and heal, may eventually cause pain, weakness or injury. A great addition to your “self-care” practices.
Private Breathing & Meditation Sessions Sometimes are bodies are in great shape, but our minds are all over the place. The inner practices of yogic breathing, meditation and relaxation help us get to know our minds and rediscover our own basic goodness.
